Permanent makeup in Kyiv
Permanent makeup is about a morning where nothing has to be drawn on. The pigment goes into the surface layer of the skin, holds for a long time and fades gradually, which is why at our studio in central Kyiv the work is split in two: the main procedure, and a correction a few weeks later, once it is clear how the skin took the colour.
Powder brows
We work in the powder technique — a soft, blended fill that reads like the trace of an eyeshadow rather than drawn-on hairs. It looks natural on any brow shape and has none of the hard outline that eventually becomes the main complaint about older work.
Covering old permanent makeup is a separate item: refreshing and correcting what was done before. It is harder work than makeup on clean skin, because the artist works with the remaining pigment and its undertone, so we discuss this kind of job before booking.
Lips
There are two techniques for lips. The watercolour one gives a light colour and works mostly with the outline and the natural shade — the lips look like your own, only more defined. The lipstick technique is denser: saturated colour, a sharper edge, an effect closer to applied lipstick. Both last equally long; the difference is only in the result you want to see in the mirror.
As with brows, older work can be covered. Lip colour shifts over time more than brow colour does, so covering here is a routine part of the work rather than an exception.
Interlash eyeliner
The finest of the three areas. Pigment fills the gaps between the lashes and the eyes look more defined without any visible line — which is exactly why this is often chosen by people who are sure permanent makeup is not for them. From any distance, all that shows is thicker lashes.
Correction and refreshing
The correction a few weeks after the main procedure is the second half of the same work: this is where the colour evens out and density is added wherever the skin took the pigment unevenly. Later the work can be refreshed rather than redone. The terms for correction and refreshing are in the list below; they are counted from the price of the main procedure, so they carry no full price of their own.
The first days after the procedure
Straight after the work the colour looks brighter and darker than the final result — that is a normal stage, not the outcome. The skin then goes through its healing, the pigment lightens, and the true shade becomes visible after about a month; that is why the correction is never scheduled earlier. In the first days, do not keep the area wet longer than necessary, avoid steam rooms and pools, and do not sunbathe without protection.
How to book
The studio is at 10 Mala Zhytomyrska St. near Maidan Nezalezhnosti, open daily from 10:00 to 21:00. Permanent makeup is booked in advance: the session is long and the artist reserves a separate block of time for it. Before a first procedure we discuss shape and colour — come with an idea of the result you want, or with a photograph of something you like.
